If there’s one word that would describe a good landing page experience, it would be sticky. You want the messaging on the page to be sticky enough to resonate with visitors, and you want your visitors to stick around for as long as it takes them to convert.

Your landing page offer and CTA button should be on visitors’ minds as they scroll through the page, and the best way to do this subtly and effectively is with our newest feature: Sticky Bars.

What is a sticky bar?

A sticky bar is exactly what its name indicates: it is a horizontal header or footer banner fixed at the top or bottom of your landing page as visitors scroll.

It doesn’t matter which page section a visitor is on at any given time—the bar sticks with them, so they can always see it.

You can use sticky bars for your CTA button and landing page offers, to display an important message to visitors, and other opt-in options. The fixed bars are perfect for mobile experiences with limited-page real estate, long-form sales pages, and landing pages with high-value, copy-heavy offers.

Jolie Skin, the filtered shower head brand, uses a sticky shop CTA button with the “Free Shipping, Free 60-day return” message so that visitors have the offer in front of them as they read through the reasons why they need Jolie.

This image is a screenshot of Jolie Skin website

Sticky bars help you:

  • Reinforce your CTAs
  • Increase visibility
  • Reduce conversion friction
  • Promote time-sensitive content
  • Cross-sell and upsell
  • Add progress indicators in multi-step forms
  • Share announcements and alerts
  • Increase chances of conversions on mobile

Now let’s get into how you can instantly add sticky bars to your landing pages with a simple click and without code in Instapage.

Instapage makes adding sticky bars instant

The newest Instapage Sticky Bars feature allows you to easily add a sticky header and footer to your landing pages.

The feature is built-in, so all you have to do is navigate to the new Sticky bars option in your page settings and toggle on ‘Sticky Header’ and ‘Sticky Footer,’ and you fix the bar on your page without adding any code.

This image shows how to add sticky bars

You can toggle on either one or both options and have it appear on desktop, mobile, or both views. Once set up, your header and footer will remain fixed at the top and bottom of the page as visitors scroll, and you can customize the banner to your conversion needs. It really is that easy.

Use sticky bars to increase conversions

Try out the no-code sticky bar feature on your Instapage landing page today and see what conversion miracles it can work for your campaigns.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes of a campaign launch — marketers need to tweak audience segments, cross-check KPIs, finalize messaging, make design changes, verify URLs, and test all the funnel steps. For a launch to be successful, every task must harmoniously come together. To achieve this, we rely on the right tools to seamlessly move tasks along.

With our newly launched Scheduling feature, you can now count on Instapage to help scale your campaigns faster and deliver better, more optimized landing page experiences for your audiences (available on select plans).

The feature allows you to schedule page publishing, unpublishing, and updates ahead of time, helping you save time for other tasks that need your attention. You can time your launches perfectly, ensure your ads never have broken links, and prevent visitors from experiencing an interrupted journey.

The Scheduling feature follows other recently launched customer-requested updates that help you save time and create better, more optimized landing pages such as Carousels, Triggered Popups, External Conversion Tracking, and Text Formatting Enhancements. Let’s now take a deeper look at what Instapage Scheduling helps you achieve.

Automate your campaign planning and launch with Scheduling

You can now schedule your landing pages to publish, unpublish, and update based on your campaign needs.

This includes publishing a landing page for a specific time zone or unpublishing it at the end of a promotion. With Scheduling you avoid manually doing these tasks when time is scarce and your attention is needed elsewhere — simply enter the specific dates and times, and Instapage takes care of the rest.

Use the Scheduling feature for timed announcements, events, or promotions. You can also collaborate with your social media and digital teams to ensure that all content and ads connected to your landing pages are scheduled after the page is published.

Once a page is published, you can make any required updates now and schedule them for when the funnel is ready. For example, you can schedule a live webinar registration landing page to automatically update to an on-demand webinar signup page once the webinar ends.

Start scheduling landing pages today, save time, and supercharge your efficiency

With the scheduling feature, Instapage puts you in control of your landing page management. This allows you to run your marketing funnel smoothly and frees up more time to focus on fine-tuning last-minute details or putting out fires in other funnel stages.

Although popups have had a bad rap for years, they work—this is probably why you still see them popping up everywhere.

When designed with the right message and offer, and triggered at the right time the banners give you a chance to collect leads and generate conversions. On your landing pages, popups help you capture top-of-the-funnel leads with a secondary CTA. You can also use popups to give users a chance to download free resources in exchange for their email address.

The banners ensure that you increase your chances of engaging with visitors who land on your page. Want your landing pages to do the same? Instapage just took care of that for you.

Instapage is happy to announce the launch of popups—you can easily create page popups from within the Instapage builder.

This image shows how to turn on the toggle Enable Popup which will open the window to customize your popup

Here are the different types of popups you can now launch with Instapage.

Entry popups

An Entry popup is one that appears right when the visitor arrives on the landing page. This type of popup is commonly used to alert users of discounts and other offers.

Entry popups work by requiring visitors to take action, such as filling out a form or closing the popup, before accessing the rest of the page. You can use these popups on your product landing pages, webinar pages, and free trial pages.

Exit intent popups

Exit intent popups are triggered by detecting signs that a visitor is about to exit the page such as moving the cursor towards the browser’s close button. Typically the popup has a top of the funnel, low-commitment offer, such as subscribing to a recurring newsletter, or signing up for a white paper, etc.

The popups are an effective way to squeeze more conversions out of your campaigns to boost ROAS.

With this type of banner you can acquire top funnel leads that are not yet ready to convert for your main CTA. By capturing their email address instead of letting them bounce, you can nurture them and qualify them for conversion at a later date.

Scroll triggered popups

Scroll triggered popups appear at a certain percentage of scroll depth on the page. They are perfect to add on long-form sales pages and longer product landing pages. It is a good idea to sprinkle popups at various scroll depths to capture the lead with a variety of different CTAs.

By offering a variety of different CTAs, you can increase the probability of converting the leads at all different stages in the funnel. Some popular uses for this type of popup are email opt-ins, surveys, asset downloads, promo offers, newsletter signups etc.

Timed popups

Timed popups are triggered after a certain time has elapsed on a page. The longer the visitor stays, the more engaged they are and the easier it is to convert them. So these timed popups can be a great way to make sure that highly engaged visitors don’t leave the site without converting. You can also test various CTAs in a timed sequence to see what works for different audiences.

Timed popups are also a great way to guide the user to complete a multi-step experience to nudge them when they are taking too long to complete a certain step or get distracted.

Boost your landing page conversions with Instapage popups

If you’re looking to capture more leads on your landing pages, Instapage popups are a powerful tool to help you do that. Use popups to craft compelling visuals and messages that grab attention without cluttering your space.

New Features: Conversion Tracking and Attribution Enhancements https://instapage.com/blog/conversion-tracking/ Tue, 05 Mar 2024 12:09:52 +0000 https://instapage.com/?p=193369

2023 was a challenging year for marketing and growth leaders everywhere. With each advertising dollar constantly under scrutiny, we were expected to demonstrate ROAS at granular levels—including channel and campaign levels.

This made multi-touch attribution, LTV, CAC, ROAS, ROI, and unit economics hot topics for CMOs and growth leaders. Unfortunately, not all marketing tech supports that level of tracking and attribution.

Enter Instapage’s newest customer-requested features—URL parameter passthrough, cookieless external conversion tracking, and GA4 custom events.

URL Passthrough

Marketers often package campaign information in the landing page links for attribution purposes. However, when there are multiple steps in a funnel, the URL parameters may get lost.

The Instapage URL Passthrough feature allows you to implement campaign- and page-level attribution by passing the campaign variables in URL parameters through all the links and form completions on the page.

With this new feature, users can choose to keep campaign information intact through any number of landing pages in the funnel—as long as they are all hosted on Instapage.

When customers fill out and submit forms, the URL parameters will also be passed into a CRM that will capture the campaign information when the lead is generated. This way, it’s possible to attribute leads and eventually revenue down to the campaign and page level.

Cookieless External Tracking

In the increasingly cookieless world, advertisers are finding it hard to target precise customer segments and keep track of the ROAS throughout the marketing funnel. With Google phasing out third-party cookies by the second half of 2024, Instapage’s new enhancements to external conversion tracking cannot be more timely.

We updated our external conversion tracking to help our customers track conversions on external sites even when the third-party cookies are blocked. We also improved tracking accuracy and made the whole process more efficient by removing page-level scripts and replacing them with workspace-level scripts that only need to be added once to the destination pages.

You can learn more about external conversion tracking within Instapage here.

This image shows the improved external conversion tracking for Instapage, ensuring accurate tracking on external sites even when third-party cookies are blocked.

GA4 Custom Events

Google Analytics 4 (GA4) allows users to define custom events to track visitor actions on their websites. GA4 offers a new event-driven data model where everything is an event, including page views.

GA4 automatically tracks a set of standard events. But often, marketers need to track events that are outside the default events. This is made possible through custom events that you can define to address their unique tracking needs.

For customers who are looking to track advanced events, such as conversions triggered by Button Clicks or Form Submissions, Instapage allows you to do that. With this feature, Instapage users can truly understand how their campaigns are performing at a very granular level, including variation levels when running A/B tests—all from GA4.

Find out how to set up custom event tracking using GA4 here.

This image shows the advanced event tracking capabilities of Instapage, enabling users to monitor conversions triggered by Button Clicks or Form Submissions with precision.

The Instapage product team is in deep feature mode, we recently launched a new dashboard, text formatting, and expert layouts, and now with the URL Passthrough feature, users can effortlessly maintain campaign and page attribution across their Instapage-hosted landing pages, ensuring no critical campaign data gets lost along the way.

As third-party cookies phase out, the Cookieless External Tracking enhancements come at the perfect time because they allow for accurate conversion tracking even in a Cookieless world. The introduction of GA4 Custom Events offers marketers greater flexibility in tracking and understanding their campaigns’ performance in detail.

The latest updates highlight Instapage’s commitment to providing accessible and effective solutions for marketers seeking to optimize their digital strategies and drive meaningful results.

Since joining the airSlate family in September 2023, we have focused almost exclusively on product updates to upgrade our platform by offering industry-first solutions that our customers need.

We have already launched several new features in the past few months, including text formatting and expert layouts, and are on track to roll out more powerful features in the coming months.

Today, we’re happy to announce the launch of the new Carousel Feature. With this update, marketers can add a web carousel to their landing pages in seconds—no custom coding is required.

This was a popular feature request from our active customer community, and we’re thrilled that it is now a reality inside the Instapage builder.

Enjoy an interactive way to increase engagement

One of the most effective ways to engage page visitors is with interactive elements. Giving visitors an easy way to actively explore information on your page beyond passive scrolling helps inspire action, reduces bounce rates, and increases the chances of conversion.

Carousels offer an easy and familiar way to add interactivity to your landing page. Carousels provide an interactive way for users to explore different aspects of your page in a horizontally scrolling series of images, panels, or other content, similar to styles used on Instagram and Facebook.

They are also especially useful when you have limited screen real estate and want to highlight various aspects of your offer without overwhelming visitors.

The addition of the Instapage Carousel feature helps you add interactivity to your page, increasing page engagement and initiating the power of storytelling.

What to showcase in your carousel

The web carousel feature gives marketers plenty of flexibility in what to display on their landing pages. Marketers may use a carousel to create engaging testimonial blocks, product showcases, and image presentations.

The Blendjet landing page uses a carousel to showcase how customers use the portable blender:

This image shows the Blendjet landing page utilizing a carousel to showcase how customers use the portable blender.

Purdy & Figg use a carousel to feature lifestyle and product images of the non-toxic cleaners:

This image shows the Purdy & Figg website utilizing a carousel to feature lifestyle and product images of their non-toxic cleaners.

Best practices for using carousels

While carousels can be easy to use and intuitive, it’s always a good idea to follow these best practices when adding the element to your landing page:

  • Use high-quality images: Make sure your images are hi-res, sharp, and visually attractive
  • Make navigation obvious: Visitors can either manually scroll through your carousel or it will auto-loop. Make sure there’s a straightforward way to show how to scroll through your carousel, either with arrows or indicators that match the number of slides you have. If your carousel is auto-looping, ensure it isn’t playing too quickly or too slowly.
  • Make it mobile-friendly: Your carousel should function properly whether viewed on a desktop or mobile device. Make sure it loads, loops, and looks what you intend it to on all devices.
  • Add descriptions: Include brief descriptions on each carousel slide when that makes sense. You want to give your users context about what they’re viewing and why it would matter to them.

Start using carousels on your landing pages today

If you’re looking for a way to turn up the engagement percentage on your landing pages, a carousel might be just what you need. Carousels allow you to increase the number of visual elements on your page without using up more real estate.

Based on our learnings, we are excited to launch our brand new home page dashboard. The new dashboard increases efficiency by providing you with easy access to the most frequently and recently performed actions.

How did we make it?

We took a deep dive into our users’ journeys to learn their frequent actions and the critical events that lead to higher conversions.

Based on what we discovered, we wanted to design a home page experience that would help you speed things up, stay focused, and stay up-to-date.

This image shows the features of the new home page dashboard designed to help users achieve success by enabling faster page creation and providing real-time performance data.

Our research showed us that users saw more success if they were able to create and launch pages faster, experiment more, and get access to real-time performance data.

So, we designed the new home page dashboard features to help our users achieve success:

The Quick Actions widgets

This image shows the Quick Actions widget, providing easy access to frequently performed core actions directly from the dashboard.

The Quick Actions widget allows easy access to some of the most frequently performed core actions directly from the dashboard without having to navigate any further.

This speeds up workflows and reduces onboarding time for new users by quickly getting them up and running.

By making the “View Leads” and “Create New Experiment” options more visible, the dashboard nudges you to focus on lead generation and conversion optimization so they can realize the true value of the Instapage platform.

Quick Reporting

As you may know, Instapage was recently acquired by airSlate, a leading provider of business productivity and automation solutions.

With the acquisition comes exciting opportunities and an unwavering dedication to delivering high-value, easy-to-use product features that help you drive more conversions. We recently launched expert layouts and AI experiments, and today, we are excited to announce two new features that have been frequently requested by our customer community.

Text formatting enhancements and an Image Manager.

Introducing Superscript, Subscript, and Strikethrough

We have just added Superscript, Subscript, and Strikethrough features so you can enjoy advanced text formatting features while creating your personalized landing pages.

As we continue to enhance our builder’s design feature we are also focusing on the speed of creation.

Features for today’s marketers

Digital marketing is all about speed. On average, advertising auctions happen in 100 milliseconds, with billions of auctions happening per second. To put it in perspective, a single blink of the human eye takes 100 – 300ms. Our customers, who are some of the most advanced digital marketers out there, understand this really well—they want to build more pages faster and then some more.

To help them with this goal we have launched many unique features to help our customers do exactly that. In the past we launched InstablocksⓇ that allowed users to save page blocks and reuse them so they can design blocks once, save them, and reuse them any number of times to build pages in seconds.

We also launched Global Blocks to help users make updates to shared sections across thousands of pages with a single click – a feature that is super useful for our power users that have a high volume of pages with shared blocks like headers, footers, customer testimonials, contact information and more. More recently, we launched the Assets feature that allowed our users to manage scripts, fonts, and styles across all pages in a workspace.

This image shows Instapage New features: superscript, subscript strikethrough.

Our customers eagerly welcomed all of the above capabilities and saw the value that they brought to their landing pages. Realizing how much more powerful their landing pages had become, our customers continued to ask for more features that would help them create, manage, and launch pages at scale.

A better way to manage images

This image shows a new Instapage image manager feature.

The images manager allows users to manage all of their images across all pages in their workspace in one place so they can easily organize their brand assets, collaborate more effectively with design teams, and speed up the creation of landing pages.

Managing images more efficiently can go a long way for marketers looking to convert more and win more. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words, and a second is worth a billion auctions!

A seamless experience for digital marketers

The best way to quickly keep your page visitors’ attention is also the most difficult—building a trusted brand identity. A recognizable brand style (like consistent colors, fonts, and logos) goes a long way in helping visitors feel comfortable doing business on your page.

With Instapage, it’s now even easier to keep your visual style consistent on your landing pages. You can set your preferred fonts, colors, and icons across an entire workspace so you can rest assured that everyone on your team is creating and building consistently and cohesively.

With the addition of the Image Manager, you can now view, sort, upload, and manage images and videos from the Assets tab of the Instapage main menu. By keeping your brand’s visual elements and iconography consistent, you stand a better chance of keeping visitors engaged and earning their trust.

You can learn more about our Image Manager feature here.

Although the ability to superscript, subscript, and strikethrough text may sound simple enough, it goes a long way in helping you quickly scale and format your pages.

With the ease and speed of landing pages sorted, your landing pages become more consistent, paving the way for a true brand identity to emerge.
